Description

Screen print of an edition of 25, depicting Elvis Presley - "The King" (of Rock & Roll), as the King (of Diamonds?) on a playing card. 23 x 17 inches, signed in pencil lower right, titled "King" lower centre and numbered 11/25. Exhibited: Royal Scottish Academy Summer Exhibition 1957 - No. 147. Philipson produced this print in collaboration with Messrs Harley Brothers, commercial lithographers, at their premises in St James’ Square, Edinburgh (infamously demolished in the 1960’s and now incorporated into the St James’ Centre).
