Peter de Wint OWS (1784-1849) 

Landscape painter and watercolourist, William Hirton was a life long friend and became his brother in law. His style became influenced by Varley and Girton while he was studying with John Raphael Smith. He is recognised as a master of the art of pure watercolour. Exhibited OWS, also at RA, BI. A notable collection of his works is in the Usher Art Gallery, Lincoln.
